Timberon Road Construction:  WAS  FINISHED IN 2005!!!!!!
 

Remember to get to Timberon from Cloudcroft you will take Highway 130 for 1.8 miles, turn right on Scenic Byway 6563, just past the 14 mile marker you will be on a new paved road C001.  Relax and enjoy the Beautiful Sacramento Mountains and the wild life!  Driving time from Cloudcroft to Timberon is approximately 45 minutes.

 A ribbon cutting ceremony opening the new road was held on the 10th of September 2005.

In attendance were Senator Don Kidd, Everett Putney TDC, Joan Schug TWSD, Ruth Hooser Otero County Administrator, As well as representatives from Lincoln National Forest, The Federal Highway Commission, and Delhur Industries  
Road is fully paved and striped! "TAKE A RIDE ON OUR BEAUTIFUL HIGHWAY"
 
Several new trail heads were opened up. This is the new parking area for "Apple Tree" trail.
